District Plans

In keeping with the Government of Ontario's Broader Sector Business Documents Directive, the following links offer public access to the key business plans of the Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB).

The UCDSB has an opportunity to provide leadership by addressing the provisions of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 in its schools and workplaces. Our Board's efforts are currently guided by a five year plan of action as a sustained commitment to address its priorities for accessibility.

Board Improvement Plan to Support Student Achievement  and Wellness (BIPSAW)

At the UCDSB, we believe that if we establish, a consistent, equitable, and intentional culture of well-being and inclusivity in all of our schools, then all students will develop enhanced mental and physical health, a positive sense of belonging, the skills to make positive choices, and increase student achievement.

Director's Annual Report

The Director's Annual Report details the success of the board in meeting its four strategic priorities of achieving excellence, ensuring equity, promoting well-being and enhancing public confidence in the district.

Equity & Inclusion

The UCDSB is committed to supporting and improving its focus on equity, through a multi-year plan that aligns with the Board’s policies on equity and inclusivity and provincial direction in this area (as defined by the Ontario Equity Action Plan (2017)). Our Board’s plan seeks to address issues of belonging and safety, as well as factors that will enhance student learning. Key deliverables are outlined in this plan - each with a timeline for completion and a method for measuring impact. Each deliverable is included in one of the four action areas: School and Classroom Practices; Leadership, Governance and Human Resources Practices; Data Collection, Integration and Reporting, and; Organizational Cultural Change.

Experiential Learning

The mission of the Upper Canada District School Board is to “prepare all students for a successful life.” This mission requires that students are engaged in work that is relevant, meaningful, and connected to the world around them in order to be successful in the next phase of their lives.

Experiential Learning is a way to build relevance for student learning and motivation, while also having the potential to aid in the board’s goals regarding improving students’ wellness. Learn more about this hands-on educational approach by reading the UCDSB Experiential Learning Plan.

It is also a forward-looking document that outlines initiatives that can be undertaken to continue our efforts to improve the quality of our special education programs and services.
