Weekly UCDSB Update

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we draw closer to the end of this current school year, we want you to know we are well into planning for the 2020-2021 school year. There are still many uncertainties about the upcoming school year and we are awaiting information from the Ministry of Education on expectations. While we wait, our school district has been working on a re-opening plan. We look forward to sharing this with you when we have more direction and clarity from the Ministry.

Collection of Personal Belongings from Schools
You should have now received information from your school regarding the pick-up of personal belongings, as this process will start this week. If you have not heard about the process at your school, please contact your school directly.

Final Report Cards
Final report cards will be mailed to all students by July 3. If you or your child has moved since the beginning of the school year, please ensure your school has up-to-date contact information for your child.

Summer Learning Programs – July 2020
We are still taking registration for our Kindergarten to Grade 8 virtual summer learning program. Students will get a total of two hours of synchronous learning per day. The program runs from July 6 – July 24. Those interested can register here.

As well, our Summer Semester program, which offers individual online courses for students in Grades 7-12, starts on June 29. Get more information here or contact your school guidance department to register. There are many flexible, diploma credit opportunities for students through these courses.

K-8 Resources
Our newest weekly activity menus are now on the Learn at Home webpage. Please be sure to contact your child’s teacher or school principal should you need any support with distance learning.

We invite you to continue to refer to our website for information pertaining to school operations and learn at home resources.

Hoping that you and your family continue to stay safe and keep well,

Stephen Sliwa
Director of Education
Upper Canada District School Board
