Labour Relations Update

The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) and the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF), the unions that represent public school elementary and secondary teachers across the province, have announced they will proceed with work-to-rule campaigns (partial withdrawal of services) effective Tuesday, November 26.

During phase 1 of the work-to-rule campaigns, elementary and secondary teachers will be refraining from administrative duties and from participating in staff development / training commitments. The UCDSB does not expect a direct impact to program delivery, student learning or their school experience. Schools will remain open and classes will continue as scheduled. Child care and before and after school programming will not be impacted.

Please refer to the ETFO or OSSTF websites for more information regarding these work-to-rule actions.

The UCDSB values the work that our teachers do each day and bargaining at the local level is progressing. We hope that negotiations at the provincial level will continue and result in an agreement that is fair to all parties.

We will continue to update our families and communities as needed through various communication channels including our schools, this website, My Family Room and social media.
