Director's Award of Merit Winter 2021 Recipient - Beverley Glover

With an incredibly caring drive to make Athens District High School a clean and safe place to learn, Beverley Glover, Head Custodian at Athens District High School, is well respected within her school community.

Bev is a warm and genuine person, willing to help every individual at Athens District High School.

While the ADHS building is 142 years old, it is kept in pristine condition. Bev plays a large role in its upkeep and is always looking at ways to keep the school looking and functioning its best, and that includes painting the Auto Shop and Wood Shop as well as refinishing the Girls’ Gym Office. When Bev sees a need for something to be fixed or replaced, she gets it done – and that’s especially true during the pandemic.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Bev is always checking to make sure staff and students have enough supply of hand sanitizer, face masks and wipes. She  is always on the move, sanitizing the cafeteria, classrooms, washrooms and the wellness room – in addition to  her regular duties.

Bev goes above and beyond in terms of helping students and staff immediately when an issue arises. The pride she takes in the school is obvious in everything she does. Bev is also very kind and builds relationships with the whole school community. She truly is a leader and school community builder.

Each day she makes the school a better place, which is why the Upper Canada District School Board is proud to recognize Beverley with a Winter 2021 Director’s Award of Merit.
