COVID-19 Update June 9

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope you are well as we start this new week. It is important for all of us to be maintaining good mental health and well-being at all times, but is especially important during the current pandemic. Our school district has compiled some resources here that may help.

We are entering the time of year where there is considerable planning for the remainder of this year and for the next school year. There is still a lot of uncertainty, but we are committed to sharing what we know, when we know it.

Collection of Personal Items at Schools
We’ve been working with the
Leeds, Grenville & Lanark District Health Unit and the Eastern Ontario Health Unit to prepare a plan for our students to access our schools to get personal belongings. Parents/guardians will hear from their schools this week about pick up times and procedures.

Report Cards
Report cards will be mailed to families of UCDSB students at the end of the school year. If you or your child(ren) have moved, please contact your school or update your address in My Family Room so that the end of year report is mailed to the correct address.

Summer Learning Opportunities
Registration for our Kindergarten to Grade 8 summer learning program is now open. This will be a three-week virtual learning commitment with two hours of synchronous learning each day.
Get more info and register here.

Our Summer Semester Online for Grade 7-12 students is also taking registration. Get more details on our website or contact your school’s principal or guidance department.

K-8 Resources & Printed Materials
Our newest weekly activity menus are now on our Learn at Home webpage. Please be sure to contact your teacher or school principal should you need any support with distance learning.

If access to the internet or a device is a barrier for your child to participate in distance learning, printed materials can be mailed to you. This applies to our elementary and secondary students. Please contact your school principal or teacher directly.

Please continue to refer to our website for information pertaining to school operations and learn at home resources.

Please stay safe and keep well,

Stephen Sliwa
